Kenyan veteran boxer Conjestina Achieng’ reportedly attacked his younger brother and nearly killed him at their home in Umiru village, Siaya County.

The former World Boxing Super Middleweight Champion pounced on his brother Vincent Owino with a sharp object leaving him with deep cut wounds.
“It was a serious incident and the family now is worried because Conjestina is getting out of hand. Much as we thank the general public for supporting us all through, I am afraid things are getting out of hand and we don’t have the resources to manage her anymore,” a close relative of Conjestina was quoted by Nairobi News.
Owino was admitted at Yala Hospital where he was treated and discharged after two days.
Conjestina allegedly escaped from Foundation of Hope Rehabilitation Centre in Kisumu last month and has been terrorising family members and villagers in Yala, Siaya County.
According to her relatives, the former champion is now abusing hard drugs and they are requesting help from the public to contain the situation.
Conjestina has been mentally unstable for the past few years and her condition is feared to be getting worse.
Attempts by family members to take her to different hospitals in Nairobi and Kisumu have not yielded results
